MENSTRUAL HUGIENE- She Leads, She Heals

She Leads, She Heals is designed to promote gender justice and improve the mental and reproductive health of displaced and vulnerable girls and young women in northern Uganda, particularly those from South Sudan. The project addresses the trauma and marginalization faced by young women in informal settlements and post-conflict areas through trauma-informed wellness circles, peer mentor training, mobile health outreach, and leadership development. The program offers a holistic approach to healing, empowerment, and education. Activities include: ● Wellness Circles: Peer support sessions providing emotional healing. ● Peer Mentor Training: Training 10 young women in mental health first aid and reproductive health. ● Health Outreach: Mobile sessions in underserved communities. ● Dignity Kit Distribution: Basic hygiene kits for 50 girls. ● Leadership & Advocacy Workshop: Building storytelling and advocacy skills. The project’s goal is to foster a supportive environment for healing, empowerment, and leadership development among displaced young women, while strengthening community-based systems of care and awareness. 1. Alignment with Theme: Gender Justice, Health The project directly aligns with the themes of Gender Justice and Health by: ● Creating safe spaces for trauma recovery. ● Providing reproductive health education and dignity kits. Promoting female leadership and community advocacy on gender rights and health equity.
